The Highest Mountain in Africa and the Highest Single Mountain in the World, Mount Kilimanjaro 5896m.

Mount Kilimanjaro in North Tanzania is a Mecca for Hill walkers and Mountaineers the world over, this is the highest point on the planet and truely Very High Altitude which you can reach with no technical climbing involved.

Rising out of the Plains of North Tanzania stands a truely impressive Mountain, just South of the equator a Mountain capped with permanent ice and glaciers.

First climbed in 1889 by Hans Meyer a German professor of Geology and only discovered by German Missionaries in 1848, Mt Kilimanjaro is a mecca for trekkers and hill walkers worldwide.

Most Tourists and Trekkers tackle the climb via the crowded and erroded Marangu route, one of the fastest routes up Kilimanjaro, 80% of those attempting this route fail to reach the summit mostly due to altitude sickness caused by the rapid ascent, the climb on this route only takes 4 days.

High Safari does not take their clients up this route, it's faster, it's cheaper but you probably won't suceed!!

The route we follow at High Safari is the Machame route, this usually takes 6 days giving more time for the body to acclimatise, however we will also take a rest day at the High Altitude of Shira Plateau, approximately 3600m above sea level. This allows more time to acclimatise and to spend the day on the Plateau, your chances of success with us on the Machame route are now almost 100%.
